What's got our attention: week of 9/14
Post by Champaign411 | Tuesday, September 15 @ 9:11am
Even with the Illini on a bye week, there's plenty of action around the city this week. Here's our Top 5:
1. Troops coming home! Governor Pat Quinn, families, friends, and supporters welcomed home the 33rd Infantry Brigade Team at Assemby Hall on Monday.
2. UI rebuilding admissions reputation. The U-C Senate voted for the removal of President B. Joseph White and Chancellor Richard Herman.
3. Pygmalion rocking the city. The Chicago Reader recommends taking the 2+hour trip south for the annual indy music festival, so the hip I-57 traffic reverses direction from the typical weekend.
4. Feeling better about the Illini. Yes, the Missouri game may have exposed us. Yes, ISU is not Big-Ten caliber. But, a rout is a rout is a rout, and 45-17 qualifies as a rout. Enjoy it for 2 weeks.
5. Juice will return against Ohio State. QB Juice Williams is scheduled to return to action against the Buckeyes on 9/26. Of course, this would be more noteworthy if he could create a little more space between the quality of his performances and those of back-up Eddie McGee.
