Office building gets greener
Post by Champaign411 | Friday, September 11 @ 10:27am
The Trade Centre office building, located just southwest of the Neil-Kirby intersection in Champaign, has received recognition for energy efficiency through the Ameren Illinois Act on Energy™ program. Throughout the spring, property management firm Ramshaw Real Estate coordinated a $500,000 project to replace Trade Centre's six Trane rooftop HVAC units and install a computer-operated temperature control system. The new variable-drive units provide more efficient cooling and heating for the 120,000-square-foot facility, considerably reducing the monthly utility usage. Trade Centre and Ramshaw are now exploring more efficient lighting throughout the building.
