During the 35th annual two-day Urbana Sweet Corn Festival at the end of August, more than 28,000 ears of corn were served and more than 50,000 people attended. Featured music acts included headliner Soul Asylum, as well as the Boat Drunks, Feuding Hillbillies, and Tons of Fun Band. The event was hosted by the Urbana Business Alliance, with corn and supplies donated by the Urbana Wal-Mart.
