Boltini

Built in Downtown Champaign in 1915, this vintage brick building has had many tenants through the decades, from a tailor shop to a cigar store to Boltini, the current resident and downstate Illinois' most notable martini bar. Boltini opened in July 2000, and the owners gave the building a complete remodel, even putting three loft apartments on the second floor. Located at 211 N. Neil Street, Boltini offers nearly 100 different varieties of martinis, along with a full assortment of other liquors and beers. Instead of typical bar (read: fried) food, Boltini offers a selection of small plates, sandwiches, salads, tacos, and desserts. According to manager Robb Tobias, the bar features "cozy round booths, leather sofas, dim candle lighting, and a great vibe" in addition to music that ranges "from house music to funk and soul...and everything in between" and is played by "the area's best DJ's."
